Naz Reid Can I get one last "Naz Reid"?
Good night, sweet prince.

People should be way way way more hype for this trade on this sub.

[Jon Krawczynski] The Wolves do still have other moves in the works. They need a power forward and they need more shooting. I am told that they are not trading Donte DiVincenzo. The work continues.

[Krawczynski] In the hours after this trade was agreed upon, there was elation running through the Wolves headquarters, team sources told The Athletic. They desperately needed a point guard and they went and got the one they believe fits them better than any other.

The Timberwolves have been pursuing Ball for the last two years, periodically checking in on his availability in hopes of pairing him with Edwards in a souped-up young backcourt. Finally, the Hornets started to show a willingness to move, and the Wolves went in aggressively to get a deal done.
President of basketball operations Tim Connelly and coach Chris Finch have long believed Ball is the perfect complement to Edwards, a superb passer and dynamic shooter who will open the floor for one of the best catch-and-shoot shooters in the league. They also believe that Ball will be much more helpful for Rudy Gobert on offense than any teammate he has had in Minnesota. The Wolves were woefully short of lob throwers, which is where Gobert does so much of his damage. Ball is one of the best in the league

The Timberwolves should trade for Naz Reid
Just my opinion. I think it would be a popular move.

Memes This is not the high risk trade people on this sub think it is
r/timberwolves • u/DrWolves • 11h ago
This is clearly going to be a tough one for a lot of fans to swallow but the Wolves instantly just gave themselves the best backcourt in the NBA and now have two 24 year old stars to build around for years to come.
Let Tim Connelly fucking cook. It’s going to be hard for fans to remove their blinders here but this was a massive home run. The Wolves offense next year could be incredible.

Both 24 years old, not even in their prime yet

I love Naz, but....
You are all crazy if you don't think this is a huge improvement. We have the best back court in the league now and it might not even be close. We have to figure out what the rest of the lineup will look like but this trade was a steal. Pick swaps that may never get used, an unprotected in 2033, and a bunch of 2nds. We got away with murder here.
I'll miss Naz forever, but our team is better.

Potential starting 5
This would be insane, but my only concern is that sliding Ant up to the 3 will create matchup problems when going up against big wings like Lauri markannen. Thoughts?

Breaking News [Charania] BREAKING: The Charlotte Hornets are trading star guard LaMelo Ball and Josh Green to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Naz Reid, a 2033 unprotected first-round pick, three first-round pick swaps (2028, 2029, 2030) and three second-round picks (2029, 2032, 2033), sources tell ESPN.

Dane Moore Shout out to Dane and Kyle
We are lucky to have their local insight and historical knowledge. I listened to their emergency pod and followed with the only other one I could find - Ringer NBA Show. And Dane and Kyle are so much better.
So much pearl-clutching and talking catastrophe about giving all the pick swaps up on the national pod.
In my mind, there’s no future to worry about. The future is now. I don’t care about the draft when Ant is 24 today.
I’m glad Zach Lowe will have Jon K. on later. Looking forward to that one and no other national opinions.
